Frosty, sunny Winters day...

I have had such a wonderful day today, every part of this day has been just right, such a blessing. We started the morning down the road at Brocks Hill which was covered in frost looking beautiful. We played with friends and enjoyed good conversation, and then headed back to ours for lunch. Lunch with friends is always good although it doesnt happen often for us. I made apple strudel for afters, such an easy recipe.

Then it was time to step into the garden for more play time. After our friends had departed my mum popped by for coffee and played silly with D. For dinner we had lamb tagine which was delicious (recipe to be shared soon) and this evening after ive published this post im going to make two cups of tea and then snuggle under blankets with hubby to watch an episode of Flash Forward insha'Allah.

Last night we had a power cut, so the house was quiet and dark and still. D loved the atmosphere and it took me staright back to childhood when this kind of thing happened (seemed to happen?) much more often. I absolutely loved that too :-)

I have added a Brocks Hill Country Park category link to my blog, up there below the header. We visit often and id like to have all my posts from there in one place.

Your eclectic collection of candle holders is very pretty. There's something special about candlelight when it is the only light available. I think I envy our ancestors before the invention of electricity in that regard!
