Welcome!

Familiar bloggers may know me as Lindsay, my birth name, but since my conversion to Islam in September 2004 i have been known as Aqeela, and so this is the name i choose to move forward with as it is more familiar to me nowadays.

My old blog started out with a particular purpose in mind, but i digressed from my original goal after realising that it was no longer important to me. So here i am starting afresh, but still intending to chat about all the things which interest me (the crafts, the countryside, my garden etc) and some new things too. No more idealistic blogging, just more honest writings from my own heart.

I will be using some Arabic phrases throughout my blog, theses are words or prayers which i say daily and ive always felt uncomfortable leaving them out just because i am writing rather than talking. They are important to me and im sure you will get used to them! My sidebar includes a simple glossary of any phrases i may use. I could just type them in English as i have done previously, but i much prefer to use the original Arabic so that's what il do. It just makes me feel that little more at peace. Dont worry though, i have absolutely no intention in making this blog a religious one! Shabby chic home style, homespun crafts, and flora & fauna all the way!!

Anyway, Insha'Allah (see the sidebar!) your Christmas break was filled with love, joy and family happiness, hope to see you in 2009.

Asalaamu alaikum,

Aqeela xx
